and no answers...
Where do egos come from? Where do insecurities come from? Its funny how these two go hand in hand.
Why do we behave politely with strangers, but scream at the ones close to us?
Why do we want to impress those that do not know us, but take for granted those that care for us?
Why do we expect our family to "understand" when we don't give them that same understanding in return?
Why is it so darned hard to just be nice to someone who is smiling and happy to see you?
Why do we give a cold shoulder to someone who is being nice to us, but try to please the one that is ignoring us?
Why don't we think a little bit before raising our voices? Its really not worth all that anguish I am sure. What can be said in a raised angry voice, can be said in a polite way too, in fact it will be more effective that way. Why then do we lose our patience at insignificant misunderstandings?
So many questions, no answers...sigh...
Life does not have to be so complicated, but we just make it so!

I wish I knew. It would make life so simple for me!
Don't know if am supposed to answer...but let me try..and see if the complication can be resolved...
1.EGO comes from pride, Insecurity comes from lack of faith
2. You have yourself answered in 3 :)
3. I try not to do these in my life but mistakes ho jatein, part I to feed 'EGO' part -II we have faith :)
Boy, this is getting complicated...
4. Is it? never thgt so..but again 'Taken for Granted' gets a score i think
5. Hmmmmm is it? Never had this problem..either
6. Part i - ego boost or may be just don't like them, Part ii - gain 'attention, affection or love' I guess...
Wasie I believe in simple "GIVE AND TAKE" 0 - 0 (OR) 1 - 1 NO Room for 01 or 10 there might be hidden surprises in 1-1 though :)!!
7. Coz we are human beings and entitled to make 100 mistakes and tell 'sorry' , 200 times :)
abee oyee maine to complication solve kaar di :)

knee is in therapy. some strange issues going on with a lot of swelling under the knee-cap. Ok, too-much-info ho gaya :)
Okay finally got my mind to think about it. Here's what I know of, which I don't claim are right answers but they've helped me.
Where do egos come from? Where do insecurities come from? Its funny how these two go hand in hand.
Within. Within. They are the make-believe things that we create inside ourselves. They're like the mirage/mrig-jaL/jhanjhvana jaL and we keep chasing after them.
Why do we behave politely with strangers, but scream at the ones close to us?
Because there is a need to impress there, need to show off. Those close to us already know us enough and we know they won't be able to do much if we throw a tantrum except accept us the way we are, if not right away, over time.
Why do we want to impress those that do not know us, but take for granted those that care for us?
Simple, it is food for ego. In general, one never realizes the value of what he/she has until they don't have it. Those who care for us are always there so we tend to forget how valuable they are until they're not there. Thus that taking for granted.
Why do we expect our family to "understand" when we don't give them that same understanding in return?
Ego makes us want to. The moment we let go, become a bigger person (again ego is back with us), we learn to forgive, we learn to accept, the understanding will come. Sometimes, it takes time for us/others to realize that problem is actually inside of us, not with others.
Why is it so darned hard to just be nice to someone who is smiling and happy to see you?
Because we are not as forgiving enough, can not let go. ghamand ghavaay enu dukh bahu thay ne potaane etle.
Why do we give a cold shoulder to someone who is being nice to us, but try to please the one that is ignoring us?
Because we have preconceived ideas about that person who's being nice. We have already judged them before even knowing them more and that fake image of them stops us from being friendly to them. And we also have a false image (may be more impressive than they actually are) of the ones ignoring us.
Why don't we think a little bit before raising our voices? Its really not worth all that anguish I am sure. What can be said in a raised angry voice, can be said in a polite way too, in fact it will be more effective that way. Why then do we lose our patience at insignificant misunderstandings?
Excuse is, when you're angry, hungry or wary, you raise your voice without realizing you're actually doing it. Aaah patience! there's a nice word that's most difficult to achieve. The day we acquire that, we have won, won over ourselves.
More later.
but then thts the way life is...lets blame life..not oursleves and be happy...with ur nice pav bhaji....
oops... i forgot...
kash cannot cook to save her life....
NOW PLEASE DONT GET ANGRY.... STUPID COMMENT
I so agree..but I have no answers as well..its a mean mean world after all..
Wow..I was thinking about the same or similar questions last week! If you find the answers please let me know :)
Hi.
:)
I've been seeing your name pop up at me, many a time, in comments pages of my Blogger friends, so decided to drop in and say hello.
I read one of your posts. Then another, and finally one more.
After a lot of brain-whacking, i still couldn't answer this question.
WHY THE HELL DID I NOT COME HERE BEFORE??
An awesome blog you've got here.
:)
Coming to ur post, your questions baffled me. Many i can't even dream of answering.
Real food for thought.
:)
Thanks for such a wonderful post.
:)
DO DO DO CHECK YOUR AWARD UP MY BLOG :)
@kanan, wow! Now that is some very good thinking! Waiting for the second part :)
@trooper, hahaha, you're funny :)
@crystal, yeah, very mean and selfish too :(
@P, kanan did an excellent job of answering them!
@riversoul, warm welcome to a new buddy :) So which post did you like the best? ;) (Just trying to pump up my ego, hehe) Hope to see you again...
@crystal, thanks so much, sweetie :)
The only answer I can think of is !!!
we have learnt and seen this all our life, everyone around us behaves the same way...and we are too lazy to introspect or take a decision that suits us !!!
points well taken...I wonder too
btw good pics on the other blog..after a long time
Hmmm..and funny how these questions arise only when you're on thr reciever end.
Kash! LEmme tell u...dont think of questions that dont have answers...sochte rahoge to u will realise that most things in life dont have (convincing enough) reasons/answers n all...waste of time...hehe :)
we are human therefore not perfect unfortunately ;( [sigh]
so u made any more pav bhaji... eathing mre's everyday.. i lust for pav bhaji..:)
Where do egos come from? Where do insecurities come from? Its funny how these two go hand in hand.
Ego comes from ignorance and insecurity from lack of faith.
Why do we behave politely with strangers, but scream at the ones close to us?
if we scream at the strangers-u know what will happen, with out people we can be our real self--if we are happy then cheer ,if angry then scream--that is what family is for---to give moral support....and all memebers do the same and get the same.
Why do we want to impress those that do not know us, but take for granted those that care for us?
earlier i also used to feel that our own people take us for granted, but now I think not, they just dont show their love and care so openly, but they always rise to the occasion.
becuase we can impress only unknown people, our own...they all know us inside out
Why do we expect our family to "understand" when we don't give them that same understanding in return?
young people can always expect elders to understand because they have big experience in life.
Why is it so darned hard to just be nice to someone who is smiling and happy to see you?
Why do we give a cold shoulder to someone who is being nice to us, but try to please the one that is ignoring us?
being nice to us means being available, and anything easily available is not much valued by human mind.
Why don't we think a little bit before raising our voices?
When we are young we generally impulsive and everything is instant, instant reaction to anything said, but as we mature we learn a control over our outbursts and tone both.
Its really not worth all that anguish I am sure. What can be said in a raised angry voice, can be said in a polite way too, in fact it will be more effective that way. Why then do we lose our patience at insignificant misunderstandings?
after all we are human:) see i have tried my best to think of the reasons why I feel so, because this is so familiar>
@ashish, well we do introspect, but that's where it stops :)
@la vida, thanks!
@bw, very true. We don't quite see it this way when we are doing it ourselves. No mirror in front of us to see what we are doing!
@preeti, well, but we do need to! sometimes we DO understand why things are the way they are and then its easier to accept them!
@cess, true!
@trooper, I stopped cooking since the day I realized I cannot cook to save my life. So letting others save it for me ;)
@renu, now this also makes a lot of difference. Kinda makes you see beyond the rough exterior and at the real person. It is hard to do that some times, when they are simply not being reasonable (at least not according to us!)
